Where does magic happen?
Wherever this is for you, do more of that!
For me, Magic happens walking ‘our’ beach. A few steps out our door lies the golden sands of the Whitsundays, the crashing waves of high tide, collecting the shells that it leaves behind, and the smells of low tide, the seas mist rolls in and you can hear the static in the air.
Magic happens for me during quiet meditation. After my Yoga practice or even simple stretches. There is a purple space of calm, a swirling vortex of peace, I hear vibrational music the resonates a magical presence within me.
Magic happens during full body massage treatment and Reflexology. A deep sense of totally unbiased relaxation and stress leaving my body. Pain free, cramp free, my body becomes heavy, but lightened from the physical restrictions; I float and energy is electric current is sparking within me.
Magic happens when I’m reading and writing. Inspiration arrives and I find myself taking notes, and more notes, even dog-earring the book (which my mother told me not too at a very young age) embarking on a journey of personal development daily is a magical experience.
All these magical moments, at the time of doing them, nothing else seems to exist. I am lost in the moment and totally joyous.
But when life gets busy and work schedules hectic, and THE NEVERENDING LIST is growing, these magical activities seem to be the last things to do, or never get to them. Overwhelm gets in the way, chaos may even prevail.
Sad, because then the joy and magic doesn’t arrive. Just stress, and businesses, and more work, more duties and even I’ll health may arrive too.
So where does this wheel stop turning? The never-ending cycle of busy, stress, self doubt, negative self talk, fear and even panicking.
How do we FIT IT ALL IN and do the FUN stuff too?
Firstly we need to KNOW that the ‘fun magical stuff’ needs to come first. WHY? Because it sets the tone for how we actually want to love our lives? Right?
I took a poll of Fb, ‘What would you do more of that makes you totally happy if you had the time?’ The Answers were all of a self-care nature, exercise, hobbies and personal development.
THE MAGICAL STUFF.
So why does most of us put our family (predominantly kids), jobs/income generating activities and appointments first?
Because they are more important? Because the job earns you money?
Appointments to be kept?
Each client I speak to I ask if they have a diary (of some form either paper doesn’t or digital). Good. Now what’s in the diary?
Work schedule, meetings and medical appointments, kid’s appointments, phone calls, maybe a diner date or a weekend catchup/bbq (or something of the Like)
NOTHING ON THEIR MAGICAL LIST.
No walks outside.
No meditation.
No yoga/ Stretching
No personal-development.
No Massage or body work or self Reflexology.
No reading or writing.
And believe me, if it’s not in the diary, it’s NOT getting done.
So I see this as a simple option…write yourself in your first FIRST.
