What one gift were you put on earth to offer to others?
So, how can you be you if you loose you in all the madness of life? How can you give to others, give back with grace now that you are successful in what you do? Researching this is the arena of compassion, self-compassion and self-care, the consensus seems to be the majority of people don’t have, or make, enough time for self care as they feel self-indulgent and therefore CAN’T be more giving on any level for, “How can I give to others when I don’t have enough myself?”
I confess, I actually used to fit into this overwhelming category too. Although within my profession I was always serving others as a physician, yet still overwork and throw self-care out the window due to “time” constraints and “over-indulging” self talk, and “how do you have time for that” bracket too. The KEEP GOING factor was intense and the actions of flogging myself to race towards my dreams and goals was prevalent, yet I didn’t realise at the time, this is exactly what was holding me back.
I resonated with the quote and it was a BFO (Blinding Flash of Obvious) for which I wrote down in my daily journal. I write all my BFO’s in my journal not only as a reminder, but as a gauge on how far I’ve come and how I can give more to others too.

What was weighing me down? I “seemed” to have the perfect life, even felt like I had the perfect existence. Yet I wasn’t kicking goals, I wasn’t being ME, I wasn’t taking care of myself. I was taking great care and being generous to everyone else, just not myself. I had no more to give. I got angry and ungrateful at others whom wanted ‘more of me’ than I had to give.
Tapping into self-love. Self-Care. ME first. Letting go of what was weighing me down. 💕 My insane ‘busy, busy’!
